5 songs, 5 days. I don’t even care if this one is basically a minute and a half freestyle. I did it. And I went out on the week all classy and shit. Word.
Have a good weekend, dawgz.

I’m not totally sure what I’m trying to say with this song, it just sorta came together in a haze while I was writing to this beat. I have no idea what the V for Vendetta quote means at the end of it. It was just a nice palette cleanser after yesterday’s pop shenanigans.
Here are the lyrics, in case anyone was wondering:
I wasn’t sent here to destroy ya life
I wasn’t sent here to romance ya wife,
That’s what her lover’s for
I’m just here to leave fingerprints on ya ears
And disappear without a trace, after the fact
That’s what the glove is for
Illegal Immigrants, bald eagles and women with pimps
Business men in submission, who make millions
..Because they take billions and fellate the system
I’d ask y’all to throw ya hands up,
But people ain’t listenin’
White collar criminals, hide your daughters
And ride onward, manifest dest,
And slide your dinner spoons
Or your salad forks, we all eatin’ cake tonight
In a rat race, where people gettin paid to fight
And if that’s the best deal, then I’m done negotiating
It’s an early check out time for my permanent vacation
Ground zero, cuz the penthouse is already taken
With my hands in my pocket when people ask me what’s shakin’?
Chorus:
So…TELL ME THAT YOU REALLY WANTED THIS
and….SHOW ME THAT IT’S REALLY COME TO THIS
like…HOW’S THE OTHER SHOE GONNA FIT?
WHEN IT DROPS, THE CLOCK STRIKES TWELVE
AND IT’S TIME FOR US TO CALL IT QUITS
So now that Obamacare can treat the children
But, what happens when your life’s a pre-existing condition?
Throats are hungry, but the worser that the cough gets
The smog in NY’s a Manhattan housing project
and even though, the damn factories closed,
Everyone’s catching a cold, and rubbing their nose
Stuck in a home, foreclosed, so now the government owns
With a credit card balance on the thinnest tight rope
So Reaganomics never trickled down,
And everyone in your town who’s listening could hear a pindrop sound
And the crowds stopped cheering, and the music stopped playing
And the town is nothing but dust and cinder blocks now..
So, to everyone, be strong, and hold your form
And listen baby girl, you ain’t gotta cry no more…it’s like..
Lock your windows, and close your doors
And listen baby girl, daddy doesn’t live here no more…
Chorus:
So…TELL ME THAT YOU REALLY WANTED THIS
and….SHOW ME THAT IT’S REALLY COME TO THIS
like…HOW’S THE OTHER SHOE GONNA FIT?
WHEN IT DROPS, THE CLOCK STRIKES TWELVE
AND IT’S TIME FOR US TO CALL IT QUITS
Get down, when you hear the sound
The sirens gotcha ready with your face on the ground
..Heed the warnings, what I say to you now
Just watch ya televisions,
Everything will work out
Odds that I get a new song up to make the week 5/5, slim. I’m running on creative fumes. This has been fun though, right? A week of schizophrenic hip hop goodness.

Embeddable Player April 28, 2010
Posted by A. WarRock in : Uncategorized , add a commentGoogle’s embeddable mp3 player is being wonky today. So if you want to hear any music on the blog, go to the bottom of the post where it says “Download the track” and just click on it. It should play straight through your browser in a new window/tab. DON’T BLAME ME, BLAME THE SYSTEM.
Enjoy!

Evidence that I may have truly lost my mind. But seriously, if this song doesn’t bring a smile to your humpday, then there’s really nothing I can do for you on this website.
Miley, if you hear this. Collabo, girl!

TrackLog 41 – Whether Underground April 27, 2010
Posted by A. WarRock in : Tracklog , add a commentI do not support domestic terrorism. So don’t take the title as anything other than a convenient play on words. That being said, I drop bombs on the mic. A little history on The Weathermen if you need to brush up.
Not totally happy with the first verse on this track. The 2nd and 3rd ones get better. Stick with it. Played with the flow a lot on this track. I can feel the way I’m writing changing. My lips and tongue need to catch up.

TrackLog 40 – Good 2nite April 26, 2010
Posted by A. WarRock in : Tracklog , add a commentWow, 40 songs on the TrackLog. Just FYI, I plan to have a special song up for #50. Hopefully we’ll get there soon.
If you follow me on twitter, you’d know that I went out twice this weekend, drinkin’ and hangin’ with friends and dance-floorin’. I had this weird moment of clarity that perhaps I was just a bit…over the club scene. It’s still fun every once in a while, two nights in one weekend is perhaps too much. I sat around on Sunday, hungover (my voice is really messed up in this song) and exhausted and wrote this song just sitting around and trying to get other things done.
I’m not entirely sure who I’m taking shots at in this song, all ending with some dialogue from Swingers that really has no relevance to the song. Oh, and yes, that’s me doing my best Jeezy impression. I didn’t feel like recording 10 tracks of me saying “AYYY!” so forgive its lack of oomph.
Anyway, a new song. There you go.

Play, Trade or Bury Theme Song April 20, 2010
Posted by A. WarRock in : Uncategorized , add a commentI know absolutely nothing about Magic: The Gathering. Luckily, Brandon Mendelson does. He writes columns about the subject at BrandonvsMagic, and also has a video podcast called Play, Trade or Bury. Brandon approached me about making a theme song for the show, and I of course obliged. And you can check it out here (tumblr link).
IF you are interested in having me do a theme song for your show or web thing, please email me. Ask Brandon, I’m very easy to work with. And I can even churn out songs about stuff I seriously know NOTHING about.
Thanks to Aaron from Awesomed by Comics for the beat!
Shame on a… April 19, 2010
Posted by A. WarRock in : Uncategorized , add a commentUpdates are going to be sparse around here for the foreseeable future. I’m not saying that I won’t magically pop up to post a new song if the spirit moves me (let it groove me), but right now I’m working on the last 3 songs of the album (home stretch!), theme songs for people’s stuff, and two secret projects that hopefully can be announced soon.
That being said, I’d like to make a song about the Tea Party. But I have no idea when that will happen, so bear with me here. Hopefully the “Ira Glass” single (and possible music video????) will be out this summer, the album in the fall, and one fairly big announcement about some music I’m working on soon.
Until then, make sure you check yourself prior to wrecking yourself.

TrackLog 38 – Geeks Speak April 12, 2010
Posted by A. WarRock in : Tracklog , 1 comment so farI made an appearance on the GeekSpeak Radio Podcast, which you can check out over at their lovely website (episode link). We had a blast talking about general geek news, as well as the Adam WarRock album, my music, and this site. I made them this track for the occasion. I was listening to Barrington Levy, for some strange reason, when I started writing this. And it just made sense. Bobsled.
