As a nerd/geek emcee, I’ve been struggling what to do for a Star Wars song for a really long time. Everything about the subject has already been done, so I stayed away from the topic for a while. That’s why it was such a godsend to find the Star Wars Uncut project. I approached Casey and asked if he’d be interested in giving us his blessing to do a song, and he gave the go-ahead. Ruckus absolutely went out of his mind with the beat. And what resulted is the song you can listen to and download (for free!) above.

We didn’t want to just do a Star Wars song that was overtly geeky. The cool thing about Star Wars is that (for the most part), all geeks share some kind of bond with the franchise; and in a lot of ways, that’s what the Star Wars Uncut project is: people celebrating this thing that binds them all together. And in a weird way, it’s not so much the subject material, or even the result, but rather the act of fans creating something that’s a part of this thing we all love that makes the Emmy award-winning project so special. We wanted to make a song that in some way honored that. So I hope you enjoy it.
